Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 23, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how the MeshReader project ("MeshReader", "we", "us") handles information in connection with this website and the MeshReader software. We designed MeshReader to be privacy-preserving by default. This page is provided for transparency and is not legal advice; please review it against your own requirements.
1. Data the MeshReader software processes
When you run MeshReader against a Kubernetes cluster, it reads cluster metadata (services, deployments, pods, images) and produces vulnerability and risk data. With the in-cluster agent, this posture data stays within your own infrastructure — it is sent only to the ingestion backend you operate. The schema-import mode runs entirely in your browser and sends nothing to a server. MeshReader does not transmit your cluster data to the project maintainers.
2. Information this website collects
- Theme preference — a single value (
mr-theme) stored in your browser's local storage to remember dark or light mode. It never leaves your device. - Server logs — if you access a hosted instance, the host may record standard request logs (IP address, user agent, timestamp) for security and reliability.
- We do not use advertising cookies or sell personal data.
3. Third-party services
Vulnerability matching relies on open vulnerability databases (for example, CVE data used by Grype). If you self-host MeshReader, any analytics, hosting, or CDN providers you choose are governed by their own privacy policies. The public website may be served by a static hosting provider.
4. Data retention
The website does not maintain user accounts and stores no personal data on our side. Any posture data is retained only within the backend you operate, under your control and retention settings.
5. Your choices
You can clear the theme preference at any time by clearing your browser's local storage. Because we do not collect personal data through this website, there is nothing for us to access, correct, or delete on your behalf.
6. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
